Teens and young adults get together online to make a life-changing impact on their generation with the love of Jesus Christ. YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. NOW'S YOUR TIME TO SHINE! Five14 is unlike any other group. It's totally unique. We're all about being real about who God made us to be and having fun while doing it. We love videos, awesome music, and real posts. Most of all, we love Jesus and our friends. Matthew 5:14 in the Bible says, "You are the light of the world." five14 is a place to learn how to shine bright for Christ and in our friends' and classmates' lives. So if you want to learn how to not only survive your teen years but how to impact the world around you as Christ's light, five14 is the right place for you. You might even find you learn more about who Jesus is too. five14@lhm.org

How You Can Help

PRAY

For the citizens, survivors, relief workers, missionaries, and families affected by natural disasters and other conflicts worldwide.

Serve on a Committee or Counsel

Use the talents God has blessed you with

A Church Exists by Evangelism and Missions as a Fire Exists by Burning

Sharing our faith is not an option, not for the gifted only (although admittedly some are more fluent and effective than others in this), and not to be done sporadically. “As you go make disciples” was the command of our Lord in Matthew 28:18 “And surely I am with you” says the Lord. Identify your friends, neighbours, co-workers, family who don’t know Jesus, or don’t attend church. Write their name down and post it in a conspicuous place. Pray every day for them, grow your relationship with them, invite them frequently to church. You are not alone. The Holy Spirit is with you.

Serving Our Lord and Congregation

There are many ways we can serve using our time and talents. Please prayerfully consider how you might use the talents God has blessed you with. Serve on a board: Elders, Trustees, Children’s Ministries, Deaconess, Open Arms, 220 Steel St, etc. Host coffee fellowship after a service, help count offerings. God has given each of us our unique talents. Use them in His service.

Sent

God is calling us—and sending us—to share the Good News of Jesus Christ among our families, our neighbours and all people everywhere. Watch your bulletins and email for resources from LHM to help you respond to God's call to action. If you wish to financially support Lutheran Hour Ministries, you can use your offering envelope and mark it; "LHM"; and it will be matched dollar for dollar by a grant offered by generous friends of the ministry.

Have You Ever Considered a Vocation in Church Work?

Is God calling you, or someone you know, to serve as a Pastor, a Lutheran Teacher, or a Director of Parish Services (DPS)? Work through your questions at www.IsGodCallingMe.ca Are you considering the pastoral ministry as your life’s vocation?
Are you a layperson interested in deepening your understanding of the Christian faith through higher studies?
Are you a church worker wanting to enrich your knowledge by pursuing a master’s degree in theology?
Would you like to meet other people with the same goals?
Come explore the possibilities at Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary, please contact our Director of Admissions, Dr. John Stephenson (jstephenson@brocku.ca)

Open A Church Extension Fund Account With District

DID YOU KNOW ??: That your deposits in our East District’s Church Extension Fund (CEF) not only provide needed capital for use by district congregations, but also helps reduce the interest rate on our mortgage. This is a win, win, win situation. Through your deposits, you receive a modest return on your investment, the CEF obtains capital to lend to its members, and you can assist our congregation with our loan debt.
For more information about CEF and the deposit rates and four deposit opportunities, please visit the website at www.lcceast.ca/resources/church-extension-fund or call the office between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, 519-578-6500.
